Jenny Carpenter
General Manager
Jenny joins the ISA West team as the General Manager in 2025. With 20 years of coaching experience – primarily in fastpitch + baseball – and extensive experience in leadership and program development, Jenny’s expertise will help lead ISA West’s culture and growth.
Establishing cultural standards and a program-wide approach to development, Jenny has decades of successful experience guiding youth and school organizations in this capacity. During her time as an Activities Director for the Minnesota State High School League, Jenny focused on leadership development for coaches in her program along with creating a culture of support, growth and excellence across ALL programs. She knew the best way to serve her athletes was to invest in those leading them – culture matters! Her leadership development model was shared statewide through her presentation at the MNIAAA State Conference in 2013. Jenny also successfully led her school through a transition in conferences and was on the committee for the development of the Southern Football Alliance – a grassroots initiative to create a right-sized football only conference in Southeastern Minnesota. Jenny also has extensive leadership experience in community youth organizations – football, basketball, baseball and softball – along with successfully impacting Varsity programs in baseball, softball and school-wide athletic development.
As a coach, she is focused on developing fundamental excellence and execution in her athletes. From youth to varsity, her progression-based approach increases body-awareness and helps athletes grow in both ability and performance. Jenny emphasizes the development of the mental side of the game as much as the physical. She believes that success comes within the integrity of the process :: fall in love with the work and good things will happen! Her up-beat, authentic and teaching focused approach enhances skill development alongside individual confidence + knowledge in her athletes.
As an athlete, Jenny’s commitment to personal growth and development helped her develop into a strong offensive and defensive asset through the progression of her 4-year softball career at Winona State University (DII - NSIC) from 2003-2006 – including multiple conference championships + postseason appearances. Capping out her career as an All-Conference 1st Baseman, and taking her place at the top of the record books with a Single Season Fielding percentage at 1.000 (261 total chances) – and tied at number 5 for career fielding percentage of .922. She also earned regional, conference and school recognition through all-academic team honors.
Jenny is family-centered and passionate about all things coaching, program development and community engagement. She strives to create a learning environment where each athlete feels valued and experiences skill improvement for self and team. She treasures the vessel that athletics is for the development of the life-skills, honorable character and core values needed for success in life. Jenny lives in Minnesota with her husband Bruce, and children Maize (16), Audrey (13), and Dillon (9).
