Alicia Blake
Softball Instructor
Alicia Blake was a 4 year starting catcher for the University of Washington Husky softball team. During her time with the huskies her team made two women’s College World Series appearances, placing 3rd her sophomore year and winning the National Championship her senior year.
Alicia is a rare lefty catcher who also called her own games all 4 years of college. She led her team in batting average and home runs her junior year while leading the league with runners caught stealing. Her senior year she continued to lead the Pac 10 with the most pick offs and runners caught stealing. Some of her accolades while at Washington were 2nd team all pac 10, and pac 10 honorable mention.
Her 2009 championship team was inducted into the University’s Hall of Fame.
Alicia understands what it takes to be a multi sport athlete having lettered in basketball, volleyball and softball throughout her high school career. She was named athlete of the year for her class all four years, being inducted into her high schools hall of fame after helping her team win its first state championship. Hitting has always been an area Alicia has excelled at, leading her team in highest batting average all four years of high school. She was a versatile player who pitched, caught and played first base throughout her softball career.
Following her playing career, Alicia spent time coaching at Coeur d’Alene High School in Idaho and as the pitching and catching coach at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. She has been giving softball lessons for 15+ years and has even helped coach her son’s travel baseball team for the past 2 years.
